A Cake smash session is the perfect way to document your little one turning 1! They are quickly becoming a favorite of mine, and this one was, well, a SMASH! We met at the beautiful Parker Preserve in Parker/Allen, and the weather and scenery ended up being so perfect. As with most 1st year cake smash sessions, we began this session with family portraits. This location offers beautiful golden light in the evening, with several different types of beautiful scenery in a small walking area.
No detail was left untouched. Mom brought the cutest turquoise and gold outfit complete with gold bow, and gold accessories for the cake smash portion. Perfectly coordinated for a perfect little lady! There were gold letters, and even stars that were gold for the tiny little smash cake that Mom MADE. And, most of these props that Mom brought were DIY – I could never do it and make everything look this cute, and perfectly coordinated!

Miss T sitting on a blanket that is a family heirloom — I love it when parents incorporate family items in 1st year sessions.
I’m a sucker for Mom and baby portraits — such a connection between Mom and her little lady!
She was a little hesitant to dig in — no problem – Dad helped out! 🙂
