Spring in Dallas is beautiful – especially at the Dallas Arboretum. Colorful tulips line the entrance; poppies and pansies are in full bloom, and everything is green and full of life – that makes Dallas maternity photography sessions even better than they already are.
When Mom, who is also my cousin, contacted me about maternity portraits, we went through several beautiful locations, and after trying to find one, she suggested the Dallas Arboretum, since it was where they were married 7 years prior. Of course, this became the most perfect and ideal location, and Mother Nature agreed – for our March session, we had beautiful sunshine, warm weather and colorful blooms. The entire Arboretum was “buzzing” with people the day we met for our session – everyone out enjoying the beauty that the Arboretum has to offer.
Since baby Axon’s (how cute is his name!?) room has a sports theme, Mom brought a baseball (which she later re-created with his birth stats – how cute!) to incorporate into their portraits. Mom and Dad are both great athletes and are now high school coaches, and it came as no surprise that this little guy would be introduced to some sports early on! I always love when parents bring in personal items to use in their sessions. It truly makes the session that much more special.
One of my very favorite quotes:
“Life is always a rich and steady time when you are waiting for something to happen or to hatch.” -E.B. White, Charlotte’s Web, Chapter XXII: A Warm Wind
