It is December, and I am so excited to catch up on all of the blogging I’ve been saving for the last few months!
I’ve lost count of the number of times I have worked with the Maynard family, but, it is always my treat, and this session was no exception. I’ve worked with Mom several times with her hair studio, as she is the “E” in E and K Salon, and has done my hair for years now (seriously, she’s fabulous, as is Kaitlyn, go make an appointment now!). I could not love this entire family more.
We met in beautiful Highland Park in August, and if you’ve ever been in Texas during the summer, you know one thing is certain – it’s hot! The 100+ degree temperature didn’t matter though – they looked fantastic, and we were all only a *little* sweaty after our 2 hour session. They agreed to be a model family for me for the promotional video that was filmed by the amazing Katie Lamb. Their entire session and the resulting film exceeded my high expectations (that I really did not know I had). Mom perfectly coordinated outfits of the entire family – which we all know can sometimes be the most stressful and hardest part of a session, AND coordinated them to the location. Seriously. They looked awesome.
Their (not so) little guy Toren started the big K the very same day, so we also were able to document that very important milestone as well – Mom brought the sign she made, and it was full of fun facts about Toren that they’ll treasure forever. This session really screams all things summer to me, and this park is a favorite of mine all year long, but I love, love it in the summer. The creek is shallow enough to play in, we caught frogs under the bridge, and took advantage of the beautiful light here as well as stone bridges, and huge rocks. It was good. So much variety in such a small area – perfect for families with kids!
I hope you enjoy these as much I as do – they still leave me smiling from ear to ear every time I look at them!
